Andean Anthracite Ace S.A. is a company engaged in trading, exploration, development and mining of anthracite coal resources in Peru. The company is a global exporter of anthracite of various commercial specifications. It aims to become one of the biggest global players in the industry through its strong commitment to excellence in continuously producing coal commodities of the highest quality standards.
Pioneering Coal Exports: The Journey of Andean Anthracite Ace S.A. in Peru
Andean Anthracite Ace S.A. has been operating in Peru since 2016. From its modest beginnings of implementing programs of field assessments, the group has progressed to study in greater technical detail the commercial merits of the coal deposits in Northern Peru until eventually successfully shipping out the first known bulk coal foreign export from Peru to Asia. The unprecedented bulk coal export was achieved in January 2017 when the first shipment was made to South Korea.
Our company holds perpetual rights to over 43 coal concessions spanning more than 40,000 hectares in the northern regions of Peru: La Libertad, Cajamarca, and Ancash. These areas cover a nearly 200-kilometer long coal belt trending NW-SE, bounded by the Santa and Alto Chicama sedimentary basins.
Since 2016, our team has conducted various levels of exploration work to cover these target areas. To date, ten focus zones have been defined, and we are poised to move into the next stages of detailed coal resource assessments and mine development. We plan to commence full-scale production at our first mining operation, the Sanagoran Project, in the second half of 2024.
